For Participants:
Register your Chem-E-Car
- Please go here and choose the Chem-E-Car ticket type to register for the competition: https://aiche2022.njit.edu/registration
- Each Chem-E-Car member must also purchase an individual General Admission ticket. The Chem-E-Car ticket is just a way for us to ask the schools participating in the competition to contribute a little more, given the additional expenses associated with this particular contest. Previous in-person conferences used a similar cost structure.
- Note that your friends and family can watch you compete in the Chem-E-Car competition for free from home using the "ChemE Car Contest Virtual Spectator" ticket.
Submit your Chem-E-Car EDP
IMPORTANT: EDP Deadline is March 5, 2022 . Please upload your EDP using this link (also found in the Chem-E-Car Rules document) by the specified deadline: https://aiche.app.box.com/f/13035fd1e8454e41a9f1c21491216805
Ship your Chem-E-Car Chemicals to NJIT
- Please do your best to ship appropriately-diluted chemicals directly from chemical manufacturers, so that you don't have to prepare the desired concentration on site
- You may NOT bring Chemicals yourself to NJIT
- We are making an exception in case of Deionized water (DI), since we don't have a good way to generate it on site. If you bring your own, make sure to properly label it, so that somebody doesn't confuse it with regular water and drink it! We can provide you with distilled water, however.
- You can also bring any over the counter ingredients (e.g., sugar, iodine) yourself.
- Shipping address:
SHAWN YETMAN (CME)
NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE OF TECH
161 WARREN STREET
NEWARK, NJ 07102
ATTN: _________________ (Please put down the name of your school on the attention line)
- Please try to order only what you need, as we are trying to minimize excess chemical waste.
- Please let us know ahead of times if there any special storage instructions (e.g., refrigeration is required)
- Make sure to note the "lead time" from the vendor to make sure that the chemicals arrive well ahead of the conference
- You are NOT allowed to transport any chemicals yourself!

Bring your Non-Chemical Supplies & Car to NJIT
- You are responsible to bring your own glassware (beakers, funnels, graduated cylinders), tools, wires, spare parts, etc.
- You are responsible for your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): lab coats, gloves, goggles, etc.
- We will have a limited supply of glassware, balances, hotplates with magnetic stirrers, gloves, and disposable coats, meant for teams that may have forgotten to bring something
Make us Aware of Any Specialized Requirements
Please let us know ahead of time if your team requires any specialized requirements, like freezer storage of your chemicals, DI water (see the note in the chemical shipment tab), etc. Your tables will have electricity.
Upload your Chem-E-Car Poster
- Please use the Google form upload link provided to you at the time of Chem-E-Car ticket purchase to submit your Chem-E-Car poster. This should be done at least one day before the conference begins.
- The posters will be electronically displayed on LCD screens, which means you can make them animated, zoom in and out, etc. You do NOT need to bring a printed poster.
